For the past 6 years, Street Scene Review has made a calendar with various photographers and automotive enthusiasts featured in it. This year, we opened up our calendar contest on September 1st of 2023! Many people responded with amazing photos and hopeful wishes that their photo would get a lucky spot in the calendar.
This year, we tweaked the rules a bit, by allowing each person or photographer 1 spot in the calendar allowing for 14 people to have a spot. With over 550 submissions, it took about 2.5 weeks for all the judges to get through all the photos and down to the top 14. From there, we opened it up to the people to vote on who should win the cover photo and centerfold! There was a fight this year for cover photo and in the end with about a 10 point difference, this photo won!
The centerfold was a easy decision for many people and received many compliments on our Facebook page SSR Collective. Evan Lewis did a pehnomal job and even provided a video on the voting post to prove that this photo was NOT photoshopped.
This year, our prizes for both the cover photo and centerfold were... $150 gift card of choice to the cover photo and a $1500 prize to KrownCote for a ceramic coat. Once the voting was completed and all the winners had submitted their photo, it was time to start editing the photos for size and getting the calendar made! Each winner was given the choice to pick the month they preferred (popular months being May-September!) We had a few people who wanted the same month, and it came down to who asked first. After the calendar was ready to print, we announced it on our social media platforms. Many of you were eager to get rolling on pre-orders and before we knew it, Rd 1 was sold out! Currently, we are taking pre-orders for Rd 2.
We had so many solid photos get submitted this year and would like to send out a huge thank you to everyone who participated in this contest! Without each of you, we would not be able to do this!
